A lot has been written about writing articles over the past few years, and even though we know how effective they can be, we still get asked why bother writing articles?

Here are a few of the many reasons that, most people bother writing articles.

  • Writing articles allows you to be able to test headlines and various topics.
Submitting your articles to sites that track hits and click throughs, will quickly show you which topics, and which headlines are the most effective generating traffic.
  • Writing articles on a regular basis, allows you to sharpen your writing skills and perfect your abilities.
The first time you write an article, it may take you as much as an hour or several to complete it.  However, the more articles that you write, the better you become at writing them.  After writing and rewriting articles over a relatively short period of time, you can literally sit down and churn out quality articles in 15 minutes or less.
  • Writing articles provides you a means to display your knowledge in your area of expertise. They give your potential customers a window to see you as a person who is expert in his field.  Basically, when your prospects read your articles, they are actually ‘feeling you out’ before committing to purchase your product or service.
  • Writing articles are an excellent method of acquiring backlinks to your website.
Backlinks are incredibly important in ranking your website high in the search engine results, and in generating traffic to your website.  A well written article gives you the opportunity to effortlessly attract backlinks to your website for a very long time.  A well written article containing your website URL can be picked up and republished online by several authors and remain on the Internet potentially forever.
  • Writing articles gives you a forum to record your thoughts while they are fresh in your mind.
They give you a low risk forum to create, as you compile material for an ebook, or some other writing project.
When you write enough articles to compile your electronic document; because your articles are already in an electronic format and the information is at your fingertips; all you need to do is pull out your articles, cut and paste, and you have your new ebook.

Meanwhile the articles you have already written are creating backlinks, name recognition, and generating traffic to your website.

These are only a few reason to bother writing articles.

Since you’re signed in as “content Spinner” yourself, you probably know the repercussions for plagiarism and copyright infringement.
The solution is to contact the offending author and have them take down the article.
Legal actions are the next step but can be costly.
Google also frowns on sites that reproduce content. Their duplicate content penalties are often greater in the long run than a legal remedy.
Hope this helps.
