Article Marketing: How To Minimize Interruptions When Writing Articles
Posted Under: Article Marketing Information
When you get into article marketing, the first thing you will need to learn is how to minimize interruptions when writing articles.
Sometimes getting away from the distractions of everyday life isn’t so easy to accomplish, especially when you have a home based Internet marketing business.
In the cases where you work from home, there are several methods to at least minimize those interruptions so they don’t use up your valuable writing time.
Most interruptions are sensory in nature.
It may sound stupid but you can virtually block out all audible distractions just by putting on a set of headphones or ear protectors that target shooters use on the firing range.
Headphones will muffle any outside noise and let your family members know you are not to be disturbed. I know one article marketer who swears by a self help meditation tape that he plays when he writes.
Some writers successfully play background music while they write to block out all other audible distractions and focus on the task at hand.
Needless to say, turn off the television set.
Most people can’t watch “Dancing With The Stars” and still write a good article on email marketing at the same time. Multitasking has its limits.
The television set and your own computer are the most common sensory interruptions that most writers contend with.
Having your email notification sound off as your write is a distraction that can take you away from your goal. Having a cluttered computer desktop is also a distraction that’s easy to eliminate.
Just set up another user on your computer and use it strictly for article writing purposes.
Time is your enemy when writing articles.
To minimize the time it takes to write your article, it’s a good idea to jot down an outline before you actually dive into your writing.
Setting a goal before you start your writing and jotting down a brief outline of each article you plan to write about will maximize the time you actually spend writing if you do become distracted.
When you do become distracted, you can get right back to where you stopped writing by simply consulting your outline.
Although some article writers are gifted enough to keep an outline about what they plan on writing about in their head and can return to their writing without much thought, most writers are unable to do that without wasting a considerable amount of time reorganizing their thoughts.
Outlines save time.
Although learning how to minimize interruptions when writing articles is mostly common sense and requires a lot of self discipline, the rewards are well worth the effort.
