Twitter is a  blogging tool which allows users to post short messages of up to 140 characters that can be exchanged between friends and like minded people on the internet.

Twitter can be  accessed via the Web or desktop applications and almost anyone can be Twittered to promote your internet business.

Add people in your niche as friends and ask them to reciprocate in order for them to get timely updates when they are tweeted by you.

It’s not a good idea to friend individuals without first creating a beneficial relationship with all the involved parties.

Summize is a Twitter search tool that can be used to find people who are discussing your niche or area of expertise.

Get the buzz on your niche and join the conversation to share your knowledge of the topic.  Summize can also be used like Wordtracker as a search engine to discover hot topics that you can build a new business around.

Twitterfeed is a tool that automatically lets your followers know when you post new content.
When you post a new article on your website or blog post, you can also manually update your twitter account.

Try Twitter exclusive content to attract more followers and friends if you don’t have enough followers for your niche.  Remember, your followers list is targeted to your subject and your followers will be looking for additional content when you publish it.

It’s always a good idea to solicit feedback on Twitter and drive the conversation over to your website or blog.  Embedding a Twitter box on your website will allow visitors constant updates if they wish.  It’s also an invitation for visitors to follow you on Twitter and updates on your new tweets.

Using Twitter creatively will increase traffic to your web site and increase your presence on the web.   Once a following is established on Twitter you can create a buzz around your product or service which increases traffic and  promotes your internet business.
