Increase Your Affiliate Profits Using Product Recommendations

Use product recommendations to increase your affiliate marketing bottom line!

Most affiliate marketers know that using product recommendations,  is one of the more effective product promotion strategies available to them.

If you already have credibility with your customers, they will more likely than not, trust any recommendation made by you.

However, you need to be careful not to over use product recommendations in promoting your products.  You run the possibility of losing credibility with your customers, when you use this approach too often, especially if it sounds like the product recommendation is exaggerated.

If you want to make your product recommendation appear more honest;  don’t be afraid of mentioning things you don’t particularly care about your product or service, that is being offered.
You will find that by occasionally mentioning negatives, and being completely truthful about a product or service, your credibility will increase.

People generally gravitate towards truthfulness, and if they are really interested in what you have to offer, they will be happy to learn about the good points,  as well as the bad points of your product or service.    Just remember to always highlight the benefits of the product you are recommending.

When you are using product recommendations to promote your affiliate product, there are a few things to focus on to make it work effectively, and to your advantage.

You must come across authoritatively as an expert in your niche.

Your prospects are much more likely to purchase from you, when they believe you have expertise in your field.
If you do not come across sounding self assured when endorsing your product, your prospects will pick up on it in a heartbeat, and leave your site to go search for another, more credible, product or service.

You must understand that the resistance to a sale, diminishes in direct proportion to the amount of trust the customer has with you.

Use product recommendations, and offer unique solutions that your prospect can’t get anywhere else, to establish your credibility as an expert in their minds.

Offer testimonials proving that the affiliate product  you are promoting works as promised.    Get testimonials from respected individuals, and personalities in related fields, that corroborate your product recommendation.

When using product recommendations; be confident, be low key, and most of all, avoid over hyping the affiliate product just to get attention.

Affiliate marketers know that by properly using product recommendations, their bottom line sales and profits  will increase.

E-mail Etiquette: 5 Important Tips – Part 2

3. Be Sure You Know Who Your Communicating With

This is pretty straight forward. When you write to a family member, you usually use an informal casual style.  When you write to a co-worker, or employee, you use a semi-casual or informal style, whichever is more appropriate.

Email etiquette dictates the correct writing style to use.

For business purposes you can always be safe starting your message with “Hi (first name)”.

If you know that you are dealing with a Doctor, Professor, Congressman, or other professional; show respect and proper e-mail etiquette by using their official title with their last name, and write your e-mail in a traditional formal style.

Who you are emailing, what you are emailing about, and where you are e-mailing all dictate what email etiquette is appropriate.  Social norms also influence e-mail etiquette.

Using a person’s first or last name, is probably an individual call, and is a matter of preference.

Many businesses use generic email addresses which makes properly addressing your e-mail somewhat difficult.

If you can’t find someone’s specific business e-mail address, just write the first line to read: “Attention (person you want to write to)”.

If you don’t have the person’s name to contact, use: “To whom it may concern“.

E-mail etiquette requires appropriate respectful communication and even though “To whom it may concern” sounds outdated, it beats using “Hi there“.

When you are writing a useful, professional, e-mail to someone; it always pays off determining their exact e-mail address, so that you can use proper email etiquette in your correspondence.

4 – Write Something Compelling Enough To Keep Your Reader’s Attention

The ease and speed of email correspondence, sometimes causes E-mail etiquette to go out the window.  It’s way too easy to send off a quick email without giving it enough thought.

Sending an email to the wrong address, can lead to the loss of a potential client or sale.

When you communicate; write in a clear, concise, friendly, professional manner.  Be careful not to come across as being arrogant, or too demanding, like some internet marketers have a tenancy to do.

Be businesslike and matter of fact to get your point across, but also be courteous and use proper e-mail etiquette.

5 – It’s important to mind your manners!

E-mail etiquette requires that when you ask for something, say “thank you” in advance.   Always mind your manners and use “please” when appropriate.

Be polite if you are presenting a problem to a company.  Remember that it probably wasn’t the person you are e-mailing that caused you the problem, so be respectful.

Honey attracts more bees than vinegar; so be considerate, show a bit of empathy, and you will accomplish a lot more in the long run.

E-mail etiquette doesn’t require you to be the world’s greatest writer, but remember that successful affiliate marketers spend a lot of time testing their e-mail communications on their clients.      I’m sure they didn’t use “Hi Guys …” or “Hey There!” in their e-mails, to build these successful relationships.

I hope these 5 important tips on email etiquette help you with your e-mail communication skills.

E-mail Etiquette: 5 Important Tips – Part 1

E-mail etiquette is just as important in online communications, as it is in offline paper communications.

With the advent of new social applications like Twitter, Skype, MSN Chat and Facebook, a lot of us forget that e-mail, is still the most often used means of communication in our business and personal lives.

E-mail etiquette is something that most of us seldom consider when writing to our close friends and relations; probably because it’s not really all that important in these type communications.

However, I’m appalled at the number of emails I get from people I am not intimately associated with, that write to me as if they were one of my dearest high school friends that I grew up with.

I get way too many sloppy, familiar, and downright disrespectful emails from affiliate marketers, merchants, and other businesses that apparently believe that sort of familiarity  will get them a response.

Remember, that the first impression you make with your reader, is how they will regard you from that moment on.

How you communicate in your emails, demonstrates your professionalism and capabilities to your readers.

When a merchant or marketer sends me a sloppy, rambling, familiar email, it indicates to me, that the person emailing me is also unkempt and sloppy, and probably somebody I  really don’t want to associate with in a business environment.

E-mail etiquette is essential, so here are 5 important tips to polish up your emails and make them appear more professional to your readers.

1 – Use your subject line for your subject.

Use your subject line to state the theme for your message. Be specific and concise.  If your reader can’t tell what your email is about by reading the subject line, then why should they waste time reading your email?

The subject of an email is like the title of an article, and should possess the same characteristics.  Grab the reader’s attention, and hold it long enough for them to read the rest of your email.

A good subject line also enables the reader to easier locate your email for future reference.

2. Make Good Use Of Your Signature Box

Every email program now allows for the creation of a custom signature at the end of your email message.

Using it properly will leave your reader with the impression that he is dealing with a professional.

Include your full name, Company name, position, business fax and phone number, and web address in your signature box for a professional presentation.

Make your signature relatively brief, and refrain from using HTML coding.  Some email clients block HTML coding, so it’s better not to mess with it.

With the advent of social sites, some people include their Twitter or Facebook link in the signature box, however that’s a call you need to test.
