Cincopa: How To Embed Videos Using Cincopa

Using Cincopa, it doesn’t have to be difficult anymore to embed videos into your websites.

There are a variety of reasons why people choose to use videos on their websites; some of which are listed below.

Videos sell like nothing else.
Videos are great for teaching purposes.
Videos are great for entertaining people.
Videos can be used to demonstrate complex ideas, processes, machinery, etc.
Videos motivate people.

Since video sharing sites are free, so why don’t more people use them?

Well the problem is that if you are selling a product or service, you are inviting your competition to your website.

People will look at your video and as soon as they are finished viewing it, they have all these other choices to look at.

With video sharing sites, you simply lose control of the situation.

In addition, with video sharing sites you lose the freedom to choose what video players you can use. You’re generally stuck with using what they have on their site, plus you have limitations on the length of you videos.

Videos have extremely large file sizes; (into the gigabytes).
They are slow loading
They are difficult to stream
They are costly to host

If you have unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage with your host, you will find yourself paying much more per month, than you were initially expecting to pay.  And, if you have a lot of traffic to your website or blog, your host will not be able to properly stream your videos for you.

Depending on which solution you decide on, you will need good storage, a good player, and you might even need HTML coding capabilities.

Amazon S3 is a good storage solution choice.

It is very inexpensive and gives you plenty of storage with fast throughput. The problem is that Amazon S3 is difficult to set up and is primarily intended for software developers.

Once you have your storage solution handled and S3 is set up; you still need to find yourself a player.

JD Player makes a good regular player at longtailvideo.com and they also have a very good multi-player.

Josh Anderson has an exceptional player for transparent videos that can also be used for a standard player.

Dream Weaver has a flash video player available, but you need HTML coding ability. If you are not comfortable with HTML, you can always sub out the work, but if you want to stream the videos you still need to store the videos somewhere else.

There are software solutions that work with S3 that handle all the setup problems, but they are quite expensive (about $45. per month).

If you are using the Mozilla Firefox web browser, you can use the free S3 Fox add-on.  The add-on can be a tremendous help and is used to create directories, upload your files, etc.; but it still doesn’t resolve the setup issues.

The Cincopa media platform at http://www.cincopa.com/media-platform/services, is something that I stumbled on that solves just about all the problems you can imagine encountering with rich media.

Cincopa in a word does – everything, from uploading, storing, resizing, encoding, delivering, tracking and skinning.

Cincopa has more storage that you can ever possibly use.
Cincopa has excellent throughput
Cincopa includes ALL types of players.

They have multi-players for video, regular players, audio players, players for podcasts, slideshows and jukebox setups in many different shapes and sizes, in over 40 skins.

And, the best part is that Cincopa is super easy to set up.   A slick wizard lets you control and customize every aspect of your media.

The video below shows how easy it is to use the Cincopa WordPress plugin

Cincopa is the most complete rich media kit for WordPress, Joomla, Blogger and many other CMS systems that we have found to date.
